Vignettes From The Pearly Gates

Vignettes From The Pearly Gate

Series # 3

11) Are we pleasers of God or pleasers of men? Do we seek the approval of men more than the approval of God? If you are suffering even though you are doing the will of God, take heart, "For the eyes of the Lord range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to Him." (2 Chronicles 16: 9)

12) When the bills pile up and the funds are low; when debts seem to overwhelm us every step of the way; when making both ends meet seems an impossibility, remember God's promise of divine providence. "But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4: 19 KJV)

13) Learn to forgive and not to hold on to grudges and hurt feelings. The spirit of bitterness lodging in one's heart acts like acid searing our very soul. Surrender everything to the Lord and learn to, "Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall." (Psalm 55: 22)

14) The word of the Lord is like precious showers on a parched desert land. It is like a life saving harbor light that beckons on a cold and dark night. It is a message of hope that refreshes a languishing soul. "So is my word that goes out from my mouth; it will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." (Isaiah 55: 11)

15) As our mortal bodies weaken and our eyesights grow dim; as we find it harder and harder to do even the simplest things in life; when our hands grow cold and our bodies tremble, remember to turn your gaze unto the Lord. "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." (Isaiah 40: 31)
