Honey is frequently mentioned in the Bible; it was referred to as a wholesome food, a helpful medicine, an ingredient of delicious drinks, an appropriate gift and a valued possession. Here are some ways you may find it helpful in your daily life.
Cinnamon and Honey
Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call "crystallizing". When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and sit the honey container in the hot water, turn off the heat and let it liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada , various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.
ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis started walking without pain.
BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm waterand drink it.. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.
COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.
UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from the root.
GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

(NaturalNews) An enzyme produced by a common soil bacterium may help produce usable automobile fuel from a vehicle's own exhaust pipe, according to a study conducted by researchers from the University of California and the California Institute of Technology.

The bacterium in question, Azotobacter vinelandii, produces an enzyme known as vanadium nitrogenase to remove nitrogen from the air and turn it into ammonia. In the new study, researchers found that when the enzyme was deprived of nitrogen and oxygen but supplied with carbon monoxide, it instead produced two-to-three-atom carbon chains of propane.

Propane is a hydrocarbon used to fuel gas stoves. Researchers believe that the enzyme could be modified to produce longer hydrocarbon chains of vehicle fuels.

"Obviously this could lead to new ways to create synthetic liquid fuels if we can make longer carbon-carbon chains," researcher Markus Ribbe said.

The technology is promising because cars emit carbon monoxide from their tailpipes, suggesting that some of those emissions could be reused to make modern fuels more efficient. In addition, carbon monoxide can be easily produced by removing carbon dioxide from the air and splitting off one oxygen atom.

Rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide are the primary cause to global warming.

"Two hundred years of burning fossil fuels and cutting down large tracts of forest has increased the atmosphere's carbon dioxide content from about 280 parts per million to over 350 parts per million," writes Ervin Laszlo in the book Quantum Shift in the Global Brain.

"In Siberia, an area of permafrost spanning a million square kilometers, the size of France and Germany combined, has started to melt for the first time since it formed at the end of the last ice age 11,000 years ago."

As exciting as it may sound to have cars that pull as much carbon dioxide out of the air as they put back in, the researchers warn that industrial applications are still a long way away. A primary obstacle is finding ways to produce and store vanadium nitrogenase in any significant quantity.

Mohamed Hammami from the University of Monastir in Tunisia and King Saudi University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, worked with a team of researchers to carry out experiments on 80 lab rats. The animals were separated into groups that were exposed to the moderately toxic herbicide 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid which is known to cause oxidative stress because it deplete antioxidants.

The animals in various groups received either their regular diet or food supplemented with whole olive oil or one of two olive oil extracts -- the hydrophilic fraction or the lipophilic fraction. Although all the rats given the herbicide showed signs of significant liver damage, the animals who had a diet enriched with extra virgin olive oil or the hydrophilic fraction were found to have a significant increase in antioxidant enzyme activity. What's more, they had a dramatic decrease in markers of liver damage.

Dr. Hammami noted in a press statement that the hydrophilic fraction of olive oil seemed to be the most effective supplement in controlling toxin-induced oxidative stress. And that strongly indicates hydrophilic extract from olive oil may exert a direct protective, antioxidant effect on liver cells.

"Olive oil is an integral ingredient in the Mediterranean diet. There is growing evidence that it may have great health benefits including the reduction in coronary heart disease risk, the prevention of some cancers and the modification of immune and inflammatory responses," Dr. Hammami said in a statement to the media. "Here, we've shown that extra virgin olive oil and its extracts protect against oxidative damage of hepatic tissue."

(NaturalNews) An increasing number of U.S. girls are now reaching puberty as young as the age of seven, according to a study conducted by researchers from Cincinnati's Children's Hospital and published in the journal Pediatrics.

Researchers examined more than 1,200 girls between the ages of six and eight who were living in Cincinnati, San Francisco or East Harlem, N.Y. twice between 2004 and 2006. Each examination was conducted by a different female pediatrician, who felt the girls for the development of breast tissue.

The researchers found that 10.4 percent of white girls, 15 percent of Hispanic girls and 23.4 percent of black girls had developed breast tissue by the age of seven. In contrast, one study 10 years ago found that only 5 percent of white girls and 15.4 percent of black girls had developed breast tissue by that age.

The prior study did not include Hispanic girls.

The new study further found that 18 percent of white girls, 31 percent of Hispanic girls and 43 percent of black girls had breast development by age eight. The prior study found breast tissue in only 10.5 percent of white girls and 36.6 percent of black girls at that age.

Early onset of puberty can expose girls to both physical and social problems. It has been associated with a higher lifetime risk of breast cancer, and can expose emotionally immature young girls to sexual advances from older boys and men.

Researchers believe that rising rates of obesity and increasing exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals are the two major causes of early puberty. In the book Growing Up Green, Deirdre Imus quotes a New York Times article as saying, "some physicians worry that children are at higher risk of early puberty as a result of the increasing prevalence of certain drugs, cosmetics and environmental contaminants, called 'endocrine disruptors,' that can cause breast growth, pubic hair development and other symptoms of puberty."

The current study found that early onset of puberty was correlated with a higher body mass index (a measure of obesity). The researchers are now conducting followup urine tests to look for the effects of toxic chemicals.

(NaturalNews) The memory and mind-destroying disease known as Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia are often seen as terrifying consequences of aging that strike out of the blue -- and supposedly little can be done to prevent or treat these horrible conditions. But while Big Pharma has consistently failed to come up with drugs that halt or reverse cognitive decline, at least for long, research into natural therapies continues to provide tangible evidence that much can be done to fight dementia using exercise, diet and supplements.

For example, vitamin D deficiencies have been linked to declining mental abilities (http://www.naturalnews.com/025807_V...) and researchers have also found that ancient meditation and exercise techniques, including qigong and Tai Chi, slow physical, mental and psychological decline in people with dementia (http://www.naturalnews.com/025040_A...). And now, for the first time, scientists have discovered that drinking beet juice can increase blood flow to the brain in older adults and may combat the progression of Alzheimer's and related conditions.

For the new study, which is slated for publication in Nitric Oxide: Biology and Chemistry, the peer-reviewed journal of the Nitric Oxide Society, scientists at Wake Forest University's Translational Science Center looked at how dietary nitrates affected 14 adults age 70 and older over a period of four days. High concentrations of nitrates are found in beets and other foods including celery, cabbage, spinach and some kinds of lettuce. When a person eats high nitrate foods, the beneficial "good" bacteria in the mouth transform the nitrates into nitrites. And researchers have found that nitrites then naturally open up the blood vessels in the body. This increases blood flow and helps oxygen get specifically to places in body that are lacking oxygen.

"There have been several very high-profile studies showing that drinking beet juice can lower blood pressure, but we wanted to show that drinking beet juice also increases perfusion, or blood flow, to the brain," Daniel Kim-Shapiro, director of the Translational Science Center, said in a press statement. "There are areas in the brain that become poorly perfused as you age, and that's believed to be associated with dementia and poor cognition."

On the first day, the research volunteers reported to the lab after a 10 hour fast, completed a health status report, and then drank either a high or low nitrate breakfast. The high nitrate breakfast included 16 ounces of beet juice. Then the study participants went home with lunch, dinner and snacks conforming to their specifically assigned diets.

The following day, after another 10 hour fast, the volunteers went back to the lab where they ate their assigned breakfasts. Blood samples were taken before and after breakfast to measure nitrite levels in their bodies. Then, one hour after eating, an MRI was performed to record the blood flow in each individual subject's brain. On the third and fourth days of the study, the scientists switched the diets and repeated the process for each subject.

The results of the MRIs showed conclusively that after the older adults ate a high nitrate diet, they experienced increased blood flow to the white matter of the frontal lobes -- the very area of the brain commonly associated with degeneration linked to dementia and other cognitive conditions.

"I think these results are consistent and encouraging -- that good diet consisting of a lot of fruits and vegetables can contribute to overall good health," Gary Miller, associate professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science and one of the senior investigators on the project, said in a press statement.
